In 2023, Erika took a workshop on Huichol yarn painting from Robin Bernstein at Pacific Textile Arts, in Fort Bragg, California. The process involves creating a design and transferring it to a rigid board uniformly covered with a mixture of pine pitch, bee's wax, into which is pressed fine colored threat to render the final image.
